Now I have

Now I have to get ready for surgery next Tues on my knee. I'm sure Devil Dog will make things more interesting.

I am showing a couple of photos of Shadow at the lake on the boat with Brian and with a fish. She wouldn't chase a stick, she would chase a dead fish. Whoda thunkit? Anyway, she loved the lake and we loved taking her. Cody is pretty good at the lake but she doesn't like to get in over her head. We haven't taken Cheyenne but I'll bet she will take to the water like a fish.

I'm including a pic of Brian with one of the fish he has caught. Good eating.

The back of my house. New deck. Now I need to work on fixing up but there are so many great blogs on it that I'm sure it'll be fun.

And then there is my colorful lantern. I paid 20 dollars for it in the clearance bin and it was missing some of the jewels. Guess what. They were inside the lantern. Being a person who loves color, it's one of my favorite things. I would have some wild colors in one of my rooms but I just haven't done it. I loved the remix show that used to be on HGTV and I kept saying to myself that I would love to have some of the stuff they have on the show. So I look around and I do. While I'm laid up with the knee thing(2 days), I'm going to try to plan some things . Of course I already have some in my head. But unfortunately I'm reluctant to start anything only to have to put off finishing it. I'm bad about that already. Don't need excuses.

I am really looking forward to lots of good blogs about decorating in addition to those about dolls, art, fashion, and other stuff. I love to see the creativity of other women and men.

A pink striped pattern floral

It's all of the above. I love the look of the shirt. It's been in my closet for a couple of weeks since I went to Kohls with a gift card. I'm in love with the concept, the price was right. But, alas, I had never considered how it would look on me. Of course on the models in the flyers the top is just super. On me, not so much. But I think it's beautiful. So I wore it. And after much trying on, finally found earrings that look ok with it.

And the dogs... quiet

Pink then a day off.

I said I had no pink. I lied. This piece from ebay is hanging in with my jackets. I hadn't looked in there. And I found other pinks when I went looking. But really, I guess I meant I haven't much light pink. My mom used to make be wear pink a lot and I probably got tired of it. Or something. Anyway I think the whiteish earrings and ring bring out the florals in the fabric. I am wearing it as a shirt. I'll wear it as a jacket too.

My Shadow and Cheyenne in the same pic. I so don't know what to do about Shadow. She has gotten senile. And she isn't in pain so I just watch closely to see how she is doing. She has just about stopped eating. I don't know what's coming. If she is still here she will be 14 on May 17. That is 2 to 3 years longer than is normal for her breed.

I went to an appointment with an orthopedic doctor Wednesday to begin the process for knee surgery. I have to get my meniscus fixed. Some days walking isn't easy or even doable. But I'm not looking forward to it.

I look outside and Spring is here. Somewhere.

My other children

I have told my wonderful readers that I have 3 children and I do. I have 3 human children. I also have 3 furperson children. For those of you that don't care for dogs, you can stop reading now.

The pic of the dog in a chair is the latest pic of my precious Shadow. She was black. Now she is almost 14 years old and she is gray. Shadow was so named because she accompanied me everywhere. Literally. Like having children again, she went outside, inside, to bed, to the bathroom, etc. like a baby duck. She is the smartest fur person I have ever met. She is the most precious soul that I could ever wish to know. She is old. Shadow can no longer hear me call her. She doesn't hear when I tell her how much I love her. But she still follows me when she has the energy. And she still sees well enough to ober hand signals. She has tumors. She has lost weight to the point that I can feel her bones. Food is out for her all of the time but she doesnt' seem very hungry. I love her.

The other two kids are a Welsh Corgi named Cody and Cheyenne, otherwise known as devil dog or hell hound. Cody is short. Really short. And one of the funniest animals I have ever been around. Corgis are super pets. And they are not quite as hard headed as the human kids. Cheyenne is four and a half months old. She is half Blue Heeler and half Husky. She has blue eyes. She is in need of a lot more exercise than I have been able to provide. First there was cold which didn't bother her but did bother me. Now it seems to rain constantly. And her huge feet can track in massive amounts of mud. But oh, those blue eyes.

I don't have kids at home. I am retired. I wonder if I will live through having the devil dog. Pray for sun.

Monday, monday

It was so warm last week that I think I am seeing the last of the cold. And of course the first of the allergies. How the heck am I supposed to know the difference?

The outfit I am wearing is the result of the attempt to change my wardrobe some. The shirt came from ebay with a sleeveless sweater to match. I adore the color. The sweater absolutely positively doesn't fit. The shirt is a little snug but as I said, I love the color. And the cami type shirt under is a buy from the thrift store orig by Liz Claiborne. I never wore sleeveless things because of the upper arms looking so bad. But with a blouse it worked out well. Anyway. I love the color. I have some ebay jewelry on and I'm satisfied with the outfit. On the lower half nothing is happening. Nothing. Until I can come up with some reason to photograph my belly and butt the nether region will remain a mystery.

In puppyville, Cheyenne continues to grow. She is a great big rambunctious pooch so this week it is to the store for a leash and collar. Then walkies. Good for both of us. You notice I didn't say we were going for a pull. She and I will work that out. I refuse to chase a dog. Actually I'm so out of shape I couldn't chase a dog if my life depended on it. So we will work it out.

This week also we are to have cool weather and some rain. I'm going to start scouting out good places to take pics so I don't bore anyone to death. I life in perhaps the most beautiful part of the USA. There will be pictorial proof soon.

Don't you ever

Oh please please please never let anyone tell you that being a puppy mommy is easy. Cheyenne is a mixed breed. She is everything we said we didn't want in a dog. And she is definitely not the breed, size, shape, etc I was looking for. But just look at those eyes. When I move around she either follows me or turns those blue spotlights on me. I melt.
